“Well, you always left me satisfied, and smiling.”
The season finale was perfect, and I’m so glad that this was a show I made sure to watch week in week out. So many great episodes, and many great memories tied to watching this show. Of course it couldn’t go on forever, but that doesn’t change the fact that Thursday nights will forever be missing a little something special.
“Why is this so hard?”
Pets: Numbers
42+ terrestrial pets from 1995-2013 in my household. We also had a bunch of fish, but they pretty much rotated through the same tanks.
That’s 2.33333333333 new pets/year over that time period.
That’s way too many!!!
Pets of My Life: The Future
Late 2013 1 ten gallon tank with a couple of guppies, but will be looking for a 50-75 to build the next item.
Late 2013-2014 1 Large semi-tropical vivarium. 1-2 Geckos, and possibly tree frogs if there are some that can cohabitate in the tree/forest setting. 50-75 Gallons of water space with plenty of small, colorful fish. If I get lucky and find a 120 Gallon tank I may even go for a turtle or two.
^This setup could be bigger or smaller depending on when I do it. In the near future(in an apartment) it will just be a quickly rigged setup, but if I wait until I’ve got my own place I might have it built into a wall separating two rooms.
2 Dogs. Preferably medium sized, and nothing too yappy. Possibly 2014, but realistically 2017-2018.
Possibly a cat. Who knows. They are easy to care for, so I could have one in a couple months, years. Gotta be friendly, and preferably a little retarded. The smart ones tend to be more willing to bite because they’ve got way too much respect for themselves.
I’m hoping that between late 2013-2023 I have 5-8 terrestrial pets, and then 50ish small fish. Outside of fish, I like the idea of having .5-1 pets/year per decade! haha
Pets of My Life: Running Total(ish) 100+ Pets
First things first. Most of these were animals my mom made the mistake of bringing into our family. She’s very ADD/Compulsive, and doesn’t think about the time nor energy involved with keeping an animal.
Animals Currently at my house. 2013
4 Large Rabbits and 4 Babies(Intended to be butchered.)
1 Goat(possibly)(Intended to be butchered.)
1 Dog (I hope she doesn’t intend to eat this animal haha)
11 Fish: 7 Guppies, 2 Blue Gourami, 2 Plecos (3 of the Guppies are directly mine, as well as one of the Plecos)
Let’s see if I can remember all of our previous pets(from age 4+ because I don’t remember the couple cats/dog we had when I was a baby… even though I just mentioned them)! Some died, some were given away. 1993-2013
2 Ducks (released to a park full of ducks, where there for a couple years, so hopefully they had a good life!) Late 1990’s
6 Bunnies (one died randomly, but it was free to hop in the back yard and may have eaten something bad, 5 of old age.) Late 1990’s-Early 2000’s
4 Dogs (My mom put 3 of them down when I went away to school, and then gave the last one away after a little while.) Mid 90’s-Late 2000’s
8 Goldfish ( (6(Late 90’s))We left them with my dad one summer while I was visiting my moms home town… (2 (2012)) 1 died randomly, and the other got stuck in a large seashell)
10+ Guppies (Generally just random deaths.) 2012-2013
2 Parakeets (1 Died at my g-pas because a cat reached in and killed it, and the other died of being old idk.) Late 90’s-Early 2000’s
1 Cockatiel (Lived for 10+ years, but had some issue with it’s neck, but lived for a while) Late 90’s-Late 2000’s
6 Turtles(I found them in my yard/roadside, but then let them go at the end of summer so they could hibernate) 2004
6 Cats (I think 1 was given to a family member, but most lived for quite a while until they died of cancer or renal failure) Mid 90’s-2013
2 Uromastyx Lizards (1 was very colorful, but we got it for free because it was sickly and died of eating a bunch of sand… the other one lived for 6-8 years… but eventually ate a bunch of sand and died…) Mid 2000’s-2010
1 Pacman Frog (He was traded in for a parakeet because my mom bought a mouse too early and then got attached.) 1995
1 Mouse (It died by accidentally breaking it’s neck on it’s running wheel.) 1995
7 Betta fish( Some idk, 1 because it’s water got too cold, 2 jumped out of their various tanks, 2 because one of their tanks broke, so my mom put the other into her 30 gal… that already had one and even though she separated them they died from stress) 1993-2013
10 neon tetras (water quality was fine, but they just didn’t live) 1995
6 neon tetras (overstocked her tank) 2012
3 Black Skirt Tetras (overstocked her tank, one had some odd mouth cancer) 2012-2013
1 Blue Gourami (bacterial infection/was really mean to the other fish… frozen) 2013
2 Mystery Snails (one in overstocked tank died quickly, the other lived for quite a 1 1/2 years) 2012-2013
1 Ferret (My sister got bored of it, and gave it away.)
This list doesn’t include random animals we took care of for brief periods of time. I wish my mom would just do that kind of stuff. It would fill her need, and be perfect for her attention span.
Life
Right after I got the summer job offer in Maine two weeks ago my mother picked up a bunch of giant rabbits and goat because she’s decided to try and be a farmer(she didn’t know I was even thinking about working out of state btw)… I don’t know if we still have the goat, or if she took it to our cousin’s farm… I’m not gonna go look and see haha.
Today she came home with a dog. It’s a collie mix, and very nice. That being said, we don’t need a dog. She complains about how expensive it is to fix things up around the house, yet she keeps on buying stupid things. Then she has the audacity to complain about how little help she gets/if you are helping she makes sure to complain about how you are doing it.
Yeah, I didn’t take the job in Maine because I can’t trust her to have the house around in a living form when I come back. When I was down in NOLA for the Winter she really cluttered up the house. I’d be coming back in early August, and then moving to school. Too much risk involved… So lame.
Happy Mother’s Day!
there is nothing romantic about being a mess and flunking out of school and crying in therapist’s offices and i wish movies would stop romanticizing this kind of thing bc it’s actually v shitty
It also takes gives folks the opportunity to take advantage of people with real mental health issues by making their very real concerns seem COOL and HIP and cause for excuse, when people who really suffer don’t see it that way at all.
I wouldn’t say I hit the bottom in this realm of lifestyle too often, but even on the great days I’ve had during this two year “break” I’ve mentioned to myself how much this sucks. Things could be worse. My buddy is in somewhat the same position, and he’s just decided to live in it and not even try to get out. I don’t know how to approach it… I guess I still gotta respect a working dude.

- me: yeah i saw that last year on tumblr
Found Out that My Sister is Moving Back to Missouri in May…
This should be interesting. Back in January I remember her screaming into the phone that she’d never come back while she was talking to my mom. Just looked over her facebook, and she seems oddly happy. I hope this translates to being relatively decent in person. We never really got along. I’m sure I expected more respect than I deserved being that I’m the older sibling, but she tends to not give out any… Maybe she will be cool, and we can work on changing up some things at my mom’s.
Also, I got a cool job offer today to work in Maine over the summer at a camp for uber wealthy. It starts June 10th, so I might give it a go just to get out of the house, and see a part of the country I’ve never been to.

The Bomber(s)
I’m wondering what he’s thinking, and how he got to this point?
I wonder if his brother started this and was able to recruit the active bomber, and now the lone bomber is left thinking about how he could do these things?
I wonder if he has one grand finale that will prove that no matter how he came to this position he is certain to finish this act of terror?
I wonder if he and his older brother are just truly crazy? No big plan, no way to resolve this, and no plan to die while not wanting to give up.
If they thought they could somehow win as if it were a game? If they have no other agenda other than mayhem much like a comic book villain?
Good luck, Boston. I hope nobody else dies at the hands of these terrorists. As a country we are lucky compared to many other countries on this planet, but it doesn’t make it any easier to see this happen in my homeland. Even from 1300 miles away it makes me wonder about the daily extremes present in a stable country like the USA.
