Found Out that My Sister is Moving Back to Missouri in May…
This should be interesting. Back in January I remember her screaming into the phone that she’d never come back while she was talking to my mom. Just looked over her facebook, and she seems oddly happy. I hope this translates to being relatively decent in person. We never really got along. I’m sure I expected more respect than I deserved being that I’m the older sibling, but she tends to not give out any… Maybe she will be cool, and we can work on changing up some things at my mom’s.
Also, I got a cool job offer today to work in Maine over the summer at a camp for uber wealthy. It starts June 10th, so I might give it a go just to get out of the house, and see a part of the country I’ve never been to.

Missouri Democrat Ryan McKenna calls seersucker suits “ridiculous”
This guy lost my vote in the case that he ever runs for anything statewide in Missouri. Long live the seersucker!!!

How cool. I live near this… not that I actually know where it is.
Dazzling Northern Lights Anticipated Saturday Night
A solar flare that occurred around 2 a.m. Thursday morning may create a spectacular display of northern lights Saturday evening.NOTE TO SELF.
You were so close Chicago
I told Kimball about this just now and he was like, “Well you never know. The weather could clear up and we might be able to see it.”
“And then we won’t have to go to Iceland next winter.”
Can’t tell if “good” or “fair”…
I’d assume that weather won’t be the only factor in the larger cities. Even on a clear night the ambient light will cause issues with visibility.
That being said, seeing any of it would be cool, and sadly I live 100 miles or so away from that line.
Winter
I spent the last week in West Point, MS and saw my first snow of the winter. It was brief, and a cold reminder of what winter is outside of NOLA.
I’m back in Missouri at my mom’s, and it’s already lame. It’s amazing how she can find so many things on the internet and they are all soooo wrong. She used to just be a cluttered person around the house, and now she is a cluttered person on her computer. I think we’ll be getting a bomb shelter in the next couple of months…
Fucking Missouri…
Southeast MO is one crazy place! Happy to be out of it for a couple months!
Getting into an argument with Sage Steel from ESPN on Twitter right now.
It’s about geography, and how Rutgers/Maryland make sense for the Big10 since they touch Penn State, and how the SEC didn’t consider that when they picked up Mizzou… Missouri touches three SEC states! Sure, they are in the East division, but how close is New Jersey to Minnesota?
At least she’s not Jemele Hill… she’d be yelling and screaming… and it would be a race thing at this point.

For some reason in Missouri this seems to be the answer to not taking the time to focus on school. I’m glad that beauty schools exist for those that are passionate about doing hair, but I see so many people around here that use it as a crutch. Nothing like a couple years of Pell Grant money to blow through after you decide to spend your first year of college boozing it up, and painting. I’m not against those things, but going to beauty school isn’t going to fix your problem if you aren’t passionate about the profession.
